“Confronting Coils”
One day workshop with Jane Crick

10.00am to 4.00pm

This workshop is suitable for beginning and more experienced potters.

In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to make original forms, either vessel or sculpture, using coil-building methods suitable for larger constructions. This style of coiling, which may incorporate thick slab inclusions, is especially suited to items intended for garden or courtyard decoration.

This workshop will focus on: -
• original design for construction (participants choice);
• choice and preparation of clay for the project - a choice of clays will be available;
• preparation of coils, by hand and/or extruder;
• the importance of strong joining;
• stability;
• finishing options.

Cost: $88.00 - includes materials and lunch
(Firing of work can be arranged at extra cost)
